Dr. Ryan's background in mental health nursing is very broad. During her education, she found that her heart desired to serve this population, which is why she pursued a doctorate in the field. Dr. Ryan truly believes health and wellness begins in the mind and spirit, and from there affects the body. Psychiatric disorders do not discriminate; mental health nursing is a total body approach to healing for all kinds of people. She has particular experience working with physical disabilities, college campuses, community and family mental health, and inpatient adolescent behavioral mental health. Dr. Ryan loves people, and enjoys getting to know what in their lives has formed them to be who they are. She values taking the time to listen to her patients' needs, and educate them on the best treatment regimen considering personal unique traits, cost, tolerability, and preference while trying to minimize side effects of any medication used. She also tries to positively challenge patients in their thought processes, and encourage healthful choices/decisions in their lives.
"I look forward to the opportunity to work with patients, helping them become a better version of themselves."
